TAMU Grid Efforts for SURAGrid and SCOOP Grid

TAMU is intending to make available resources for SCOOP and SURA Grid efforts. This wiki topic is for documenting ideas and decisions associated with this effort.

  1. TAMU is making available time from the Tensor Cluster on weekends for SURAGrid activities. By extension, this will include SCOOP activities.
  2. TAMU SCOOP activities include standing up a 30-node resource for SCOOP Grid activities.
    • Consensus is to configure the TI resources as a cluster.
    • What is the preferred interconnect?
      • GBE?
      • 100BaseT?
      • no, Myrinet/Infiniband isn't an option...
